About the Bureau

The Convention & Visitors Bureau was established December 15, 1986 to assist the hotel and hospitality industry with marketing and sales efforts and to promote north suburban Chicago as a tourism destination. Representing the municipalities of Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect and Des Plaines, the bureau also retains a partnership base consisting of numerous attractions, restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues, recreation facilities and other travel related companies throughout Chicagoland.

Our mission is to market Chicago North Suburbs as a meeting and leisure destination; soliciting convention and group business; engage in visitor promotions that generate overnights stays in the hotels; retail, food and beverage sales; expenditures at attractions, festivals, events and other visitor related businesses; thereby enhancing the economic stability of the area.

Testimonials

"I would like to thank the Chicago North Suburbs CVB for their assistance in helping me with all my event planning needs. I would also like to thank the Hilton Northbrook for their accommodations. The Hilton has one of the best dining experiences for a hotel in the Greater Chicagoland Area. For an upscale property, the meeting space and rooms were very affordable. The Hilton is always my first call when I am in the Prospect Heights area. The Chicago North Suburbs CVB has a great staff and very accessible whenever something new for me came up. The Prospect Heights area is a great alternative to the traffic and expense of the downtown area while still being close enough to enjoy the entire city of Chicago. North American Youth Sports looks forward to having our events in the new venues that are arising in the Prospect Heights area."
Mark Garrigan, National Director, North American Youth Sports

"Wanted to share our experience in using the Chicago North Suburbs office to plan our Chicago tours. The last four years have been a total success for our motorcoach business and we have brought sold out coaches to the area for several years now. We thank Michelle for her excellent service and new itinerary ideas each year".
Marita Williams, AAA East Central

"Some people may ask where in the world or why in the world Prospect Heights, but for the non profit associations I manage and plan meetings, Prospect Heights is just right! Since few people knew about its hotels, the hotels and convention bureau work harder to please and are very affordable! Milwaukee Avenue has every kind of restaurant you can think of from World Class Le Francais to Buco di Beppo to Hackneys to Denny's. Speaking of the CVB staff-Michelle and company were always working for my groups to make sure that my group's needs were met both before and after the event."
